CHARLOTTE NC NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY
A new baby is only new for a very short time. As much as we think we will remember the precious moments, we won't. The kissable, chubby cheeks, tiny fingers and toes, soft silky hair, pouty lips, and sweet newborn scent will soon be a faint memory. Newborn photography preserves these details and this is my specialty! I have attended many training workshops and read a number of books on newborn photography. Plus with 5 nieces, 4 great nephews, and 3 great nieces, I have handled and cared for newborns personally and professionally for over 35 years! Rest assured that your baby’s safety, comfort, and capturing timeless moments are my primary goals.
AT WHAT AGE SHOULD MY BABY BE PHOTOGRAPHED?
My preference is to photograph your baby between 5-14 days old when they are still sleepy and flexible for those cute cuddly poses. All newborn sessions begin promptly at 10am. For those who are new to newborn photography and missed this 14 day window, we can still photograph your newborn up to 4 weeks of age. However, this is with the understanding that your baby may not be as flexible for some poses, may be mostly wrapped, and may be wide awake for the majority of the session.
HOW CAN WE SET A SESSION DATE SINCE WE DON’T KNOW WHEN MY BABY WILL ARRIVE?
This is a very common, yet good question. When booking your newborn session, we put your your due date on the calendar initially to hold and guarantee your appointment. Once your baby is born, you’ll notify me and we update the calendar with a true session date within the first 14 days of life.
HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION TAKE?
That depends on the session you choose. A full newborn session takes 3 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, changing, soothing, and posing. In-home sessions last about an hour, plus about 30-45 minutes for setup and breakdown.
DO YOU HAVE NEWBORN PROPS?
We have a very large collection of newborn outfit, props, headbands, blankets, swaddles, backdrops, and other accessories in a variety of sizes and colors. You are welcomed to bring items from home too if you’d like. As part of booking your session you will receive a Preparation Guide with everything you’ll need to know for the session.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The booking fee is $150. This fee covers the photographer’s time, creative talent, and everything needed to create beautiful portraits of your baby. Digitals and Prints are not included in the booking fee. They are available for purchase separately. Please contact us to inquire about detailed pricing.
HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?
If you already know your due date – now is the time to book your session. We are usually booked 4-6 weeks out and a limited number of bookings is available each month so it is important to make a reservation as early as possible during your pregnancy. CAN FAMILY MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN THE PHOTO SESSION?
Yes! We love nothing more than for spouses and children to participate in the shoot! Studies show that as your child grows and sees himself/herself in family photos, they feel more loved, connected, and experience a boost in self-esteem.
DO YOU SELL DIGITALS, PRINTS, BOOKS, OR CANVAS?
Yes, Lisa Yvette Photography is a full service studio offering not only portrait sessions, but also high quality print and keepsake products. Payment Plans are available for product purchases over $700. Please contact us to inquire about detailed pricing.
CAN WE JUST PURCHASE DIGITAL COPIES?
Yes, You can purchase high resolution digitals only. They are delivered to you online with a release for reprinting permission.
WHEN WILL WE GET TO SEE THE PHOTOS?
You will see a soft edit of your photos on the day of your session. A full edit of your beautiful photo gallery, ordering and receiving your prints from our lab will take some time. Please allow 1-2 weeks for digitals and 2-3 weeks for product delivery.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE?
We understand emergencies can and do happen. To avoid rescheduling fees, please give us 24 hours notice if possible. You’ll be rescheduled to the next available date. Note: We will only reschedule ‘once’ for personal reasons. If a second reschedule is required, you must pay the booking fee again.
WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO?
Our studio is located in the Southwest Charlotte area known as Steele Creek, near McDowell Park. We are just about a mile from both Tega Cay and Lake Wylie SC.
