Considering whether or not to do a bridal shoot as part of your wedding photos?  Here are a few good reasons to schedule one with your photographer.

1. A bridal shoot is somewhat a 'sneak peek or test run' opportunity to see exactly how you’ll look [ wedding gown, veil, flowers, hair, makeup, accessories ] and allows you the opportunity to make desired changes to your dress, hair, makeup, etc. prior to the big day.

2. A bridal shoot allows you and your photographer to get familiar with each other.  Your photographer gets to see which poses and angles work best for you and you get a relaxed stress free environment in which to get comfortable being in front of the camera. This way you'll know what to expect on your wedding day.

3. Since your wedding venue may not be available prior to the wedding, having a bridal shoot at another location will add variety to your wedding photo portfolio.  Consider locations with waterfalls or waterfronts, oversized windows or mirrors, chandeliers, interesting architecture or columns, spiral staircases, floral gardens, etc.  Get creative by adding a variety of props such as a vintage chair, vintage car, rustic suitcases, cowgirl boots, chalkboard or other signs, initial of your new last name.

Here are a few photos from a recent styled Bridal shoot at Alexander Homestead in Charlotte NC where several brides came out to have their portraits taken. Alexander Homestead is an absolutely stunning location and is the perfect setting for any intimate wedding.  It's definitely one of my favorite local venues. Be sure to check them out.
